The Lesson sheets provide a full explanation of the exercise to be sung, musical notation, ways in which the activity can be extended as well as insights into the inherent challenges you might face when doing the exercise. Further to the activity, every lesson sheet is accompanied by an Instructional Video that further enhances the specific focus of the exercise. Every lesson sheet has the ‘Areas of Focus’ chart showing which of the eight technical areas is being developed by that exercise. This schematic will help you to ‘focus’ your attention to the right areas of development as you practice.
A ‘Weekly Voice To Do’ sheet is also provided to help you track your practice time and progress.
The Exercise Collection has been designed with the singer’s developmental progress in mind. Work through the exercise collection systematically (starting with track 1) ensuring that you can successfully perform each exercise before moving onto the next.
None of the activities in this exercise collection should ever leave the voice feeling physically compromised. If your voice ‘hurts’ after a particular exercise, then you are likely doing the exercise incorrectly. Do not persist with any practice that causes high levels of discomfort. If, after multiple attempts, a specific exercise(s) continues to
challenge you, seek assistance from a qualified/experienced contemporary singing teacher.
