Djarts holds two major events; the Djarts Singing ShowCase and the Djarts Contemporary Voice Seminar, plus the Djarts Café Series (3-4 low key performances throughout the calendar year).

Djarts Major Events

Djarts Café Series is an exciting opportunity for all current Djarts students. The Café Series consists of 3-4 low key performances at Toscani’s Café Carindale throughout the calendar year. Each performance is held Sunday’s, 2pm. This is a great way for beginner and intermediate students to hone their performance skills in front of a supportive audience.

2010 will see the continuing of our ’Profile Sets’. After the beginner students have performed their combined set, two students will have the opportunity to perform a 4 & 6 song set (respectively), honing the necessary skills to perform and hold an audience for 20-30mins.

Students are encouraged to nominate their involvement with their individual teachers during lesson time.

Next Performance: Term 3, 2010. Sunday 29 August, 2pm.

Location: Toscani’s Carindale is located at Westfield Carindale on the Town Square.

Our flagship event, the Djarts Contemporary Voice Seminar is always a fantastic day of practical and informative sessions.

The 2007 program was jam packed with performance instruction with particular focus this year given to Stage Craft and Creative Vocals. Our keynote speakers, Queenie van de Zandt (Performance Coach) & Ingrid James (Jazz Specialist) are both highly sort after in their respective disciplines as well as being fantastic communicators. In addition Daniel Kay (Djarts Principal Voice Coach) provided instruction on topics including Breath Management. All contemporary singers benefited greatly from the days activities with breakout sessions allowing delegates to focus on specific interests.

We are extremely proud of all of our students, so we look forward to showing them off in a huge production at the end of year, the Djarts Singing ShowCase.

This year the Djarts Singing ShowCase ‘08 was presented by the djarts student body at the Brisbane Arts Theatre, Petrie Terrace Brisbane.

This exciting event provides our students with a real-life performance opportunity, including professional sound and lighting. Students are encouraged to bring their friends and family which in turn creates a friendly and encouraging audience.

Current Djarts Students can register their interest by talking with their voice coach.
